Employment contracts are written to establish the working parameters between an employer and an employee. Even well drafted contracts fail to take into account all situations, and too often employers violate the terms of contracts they sign with their employees.

Not all employment contracts are explicit in their details. For example, many people are employed at will. Meaning their employment can be terminated at any time with or without cause. However, employee handbooks often establish de facto employment contracts. In addition, employment contracts can be established verbally.

Union employees seeking compensation for contract violations generally have to turn to their union. However, if the union neglects to protect the employee against a union contract violation, I can help the employee bring an action against the union as well as the employer.
